With just 5 days until Christmas, we are crossing things off our Christmas Bucket list left and right. I said no to quite a bit of work this year to enjoy more time with my family and I think we all agree it was the best decision! There will always be work, but Christmas comes just once a year.
Here is what we've done so far, and what we have left to do before Christmas:
Put up the Christmas TreeHang our faux fireplace– We've done this every year since moving to Campeche. You have to have somewhere to hang those stockings, after all.Christmas gift exchange– the kids exchange names and get to go shopping for each other. They'll open them Christmas morning.Christmas shoppingChristmas shopping treats– choice of coffee or ice cream 🙂Photos at the mall –we got several good ones this year. I've been sharing them on our Instagram account.Wrapping Christmas gifts– it's tradition that the kids get to take turns wrapping gifts for each other with mom different nights of the week before Christmas. They're all done! yay!Christmas party– We had a fancy lunch one day complete with hot cocoa in our tea set, fancy dishes and dessert!- Hang Christmas lights on the house
Make Christmas cut out cookies- Make Gingerbread houses
- Grinch cookies and movie day
See the Christmas Lights around townWatch Christmas movies– we're slowly working our way through our list.- Sleep over in the living room by the Christmas tree for a night.
Go get ice cream together after dinner– Our favorite little ice cream shop is called “La Brocha” (The Brush) and has tons of classic and regional flavors. The closest to US ice cream we've found here.- Ice Skating – this one is harder to do, but it's on the list. Last year the local city government put up a tent at the fair grounds with an ice rink, but we haven't seen it out this year, not sure if they're going to bring it in again or not.
- Read Christmas books together – see some of our favorites here.
Christmas Outreach– So far in December we've passed out over 1,000 bags in Campeche, reaching our Jerusalem with Christmas cheer and the Gospel message. Click the dates to see what we've done other years. 2014, 2013Christmas party at Saturday Bible Club- Cinnamon roll Christmas breakfast – not a perfect Christmas morning without them!
Make new pajama pants for the kids– our traditional Night Before Christmas Gift is always matching Christmas Pajamas. Watch our social media for pics on the 24th! Finished up this weekend. Just need to get the t-shirts to match.Christmas family photo card– here is our Family Christmas card! We wish you a very blessed Christmas!
