Cats have long been a favorite in our house, ever since I talked my Dad in letting me bring home a poor mistreated grey kitten at the mature age of 10. That cat, Ashes, would drink from the sink, eat from my hand, and sleep on my chest singing us both to sleep. She learned to open doors, hide from strangers, and sit in the middle of every book I opened. It's no wonder I love books and cats almost equally, and if the book is about cats, so much the better! I hope you enjoy today's What to Read Wednesday books chosen just for you. Don't forget to check out the linked posts at the end too!
Our featured post from last week is Cinnamon Glazed Pumpkin Doughnuts from Strength & Sunshine
Books About Cats
My Cat, the Silliest Cat in the World by Gilles Bachelet – this book compares an elephant to a pet cat and shows just how ridiculous (and fun) it would be to have a pet elephant.
If You Give a Cat a Cupcake by Laura Numeroff – another hit from Laura!
The Car Lovers' Coloring Book by Ruth Soffer – for the artist cat lover
Three Little Kittens by Paul Galdone – A Classic tale of lost and found, an I LOVE this man's art!
Dewey: The Small-Town Library Cat Who Touched the World by Vicki Myron – a sweet sweet story whether read independently or as a read-aloud.
Dewey: There's a Cat in the Library by Vicki Myron – the kids version of the above chapter book.
Homer the Library Cat by Reeve Lindbergh – because every library needs a cat.
Library Lion by Michelle Knudson – and every big library needs a BIG cat. Cat's and books go together like white and rice.
The Complete Cat Breed Book – for the more studious and science minded.
How to Speak Cat: A Guide to Decoding Cat Language – for the communicators among us. How fun would it be to learn to speak cat! Dr. Gary says you can!

Hmmm . . .not many cat books in our house. Our St. Bernard steals the show and it’s all about dogs. I think we may have Cynthia Rylant to thank for that with her Henry and Mudge series.
Thanks for your efforts here at this lovely place!
Happy Wednesday!
