Bonjour! French is a popular language to learn, but learning any new language can be difficult. Fortunately, there are all types of apps available at your fingertips to make learning French a little bit easier. We all like saving money, so we have tried out a few different free language apps and have found the best ones. At the time that this posted, all of these apps were free, but be sure to check the price before purchasing.

In no specific order, here are our 10 favorite free apps to help you learn French.
1. Learn French 6000 Words
This app lets you pick the words that you want to learn. It is easy to navigate, comes with three different levels and 7 different games. You will have hours of fun learning different French words and phrases.
2. My First Words Education For Toddlers
This app lets you pick the language you want to learn, and French is one of them. It shows you pictures of a word, says the word, and shows the written word. It is very basic for younger learners, but would be a great place to start.
3. Learn French Easy Le Bon Mot
This app teaches vocabulary and grammar using life like pictures. Quizzes are multiple choice or require you to spell out answers. There are numerous categories. This app is best for those who are able to easily read English.
4. Learn French with WordPic
This app shows you a picture with six words in French, you need to pick the word that matches the picture. If you pick the wrong answer then it disappears. You learn the correct word by process of elimination. Words are repeated as you learn more words providing plenty of practice. As you go on you are eventually asked to spell out the words. This is quick and easy. It is perfect for when you only have a few minutes to practice.
5. French Learning for Kids
This app has no ads at all! You can learn French while having fun. Solve puzzles, play games, and color pictures. As you complete each activity you learn French vocabulary. There are three sets of vocabulary available for free, if you want to unlock the other sections the price is $2.53. It is perfect for younger kids.
6. Learn and Play French Free
Learn different French words and play three different fun games while practicing vocabulary. It starts out very basic and says it's for age 2 and up. Some sections are locked in the free version.
7. Princesses Learn French
This app is perfect for the princess in your life! You get to read stories with French words sprinkled throughout the story. You can color pictures. While you color the name of the color is said in French. Play sticker match and memory, practice flash cards, and sing a song in both French and English. There are a lot of fun activities to explore in this app. You can get the book Snow White for free. Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty are available for $1.99 each.
8. Learn French for Beginners
There are 25 lessons to this app that each include; study lists, slide shows, reading quizzes from English to French and from French to English, and listening quizzes from English to French and from French to English. There is also a theory class that includes over 30 sections about verbs and the grammar of French writing. This is a huge section with readable lessons. The Theory Class is not interactive, but the rest of the app is.
9. Learn French Language
Learn vocabulary, take quizzes. It includes different parts of speech, simple phrases, and a great deal of vocabulary. Best of all, it is easy to use.
10.French Grammar Sentences
This app is for the advanced student. For those who have already learned a great deal of French vocabulary. There are no English translations. It is a fun game that helps you learn the correct way to put sentences together. If you know French but want to strengthen your vocabulary, this would be a great one to try.
