It's Penguin Appreciation Day on What to Read Wednesday and we've got some great things to recommend, but first our most popular post from last week was from Wendy @ WendyWoerner.com: 16 Favorite Children's Books for the New Year
Our Favorite Penguin Books
Our favorite Penguin books are by far the Tacky the Penguin series. He is so lovable and gets in and out of so many silly scrapes, it's almost like a penguin version of Curious George. The story about the Emperor is especially funny!
Penguin Chick by Betty Tatham is a great beginner science book.
Penguins! by National Geographic Kids
If You Were a Penguin by Florence Minor
And the Newberry Honor book Mr. Popper's Penguins by Richard & Florence Atwater is probably our favorite chapter book about penguins. It's a great read aloud for lower elementary kids as you enjoy the penguin's lives and adventures right along with Mr. Popper.
Do you have a favorite book about Penguins?
