So live that you wouldn't be ashamed to sell the family parrot to the town gossip. – Will Rogers
It has been an exciting few weeks leading up to our second annual Campeche Ladies Conference. Along with baby's arrival, and a visit from Grandpapa, there were gift bags to pack, handouts to print, materials to package, menus to plan, decorations to make, sessions to write and many many other organizational tasks.
Continuing on from last year's theme: Women for God, this year our topic was the power of words, and specifically the power and impact of our words on the lives and hearts of those around us. And, of course, we used a parrot for our mascot and decorations.
It was a wonderful weekend, good food, good fellowship with friends and sisters in Christ, and good lessons from the Word of God. I wrote a full report and included more pictures on our ministry website, if you'd like to see more, click here.
If you're interested in studying what God says about our words, I'd recommend {affiliate link} The Power of a Woman's Words by Sharon Jaynes. (Spanish title: El Poder de tus palabras). This book was a great help to me as I studied this topic for myself in preparation to teach the conference.
Our next ladies conference will be March 7, 2015. We're looking forward to a lovely tea party time together studying God's Word with Mrs. Susan Bixby, and we would love for you to come!
