Every year our family celebrates a quirky little holiday on September 22: National Elephant Appreciation Day. (You can find more quirky holidays in my ebook Everyday is a Holiday in the Paradise Praises Store or free when you subscribe.)
Elephants are one of the most majestic and caring animals our Lord created, and there is much we can learn from them, both in real life, and as characters in books! I wrote about our Elephant Day Traditions last year, and shared some of our favorite elephant books with you then, but here are a few more. {Note to fellow Bloggers: Don't forget to link up any elephant related posts or crafts at the end!}
What to Read: Elephants Books!
Grandpa Green by Lane Smith – a child appreciates his grandfather's memories and stories through gardening and art.
A Sick Day for Amos by Phillip C. Stead – the compassionate elephant and friends, seek out the sick zookeeper and help him get well.
When the Silliest Cat was Small by Giles Bachelet – the ongoing saga of the pet elephant who thinks he's a cat. Hilarious!
Elmer by David McKee – a classic about being confident in the fact that you are unique.
And don't forget our fabulous new Elephant Planner for 2015!
