Dear Mom,
You are doing a good job. I want you to know that in your heart. I believe in you. Remember I chose you to be mom to those precious children. These little people are my gift to you (Ps. 127:3).
I know your patience is tested … and broken. Before you came to me through my son, you were broken. I repaired your brokenness with Jesus’s blood.
I know you get angry. Don’t beat yourself up. Jesus was angry at times in his life on earth. I told you when you are angry (see, I know it happens) not to sin (Eph. 4:26). It’s hard, I know. I have experienced those emotions. I am here beside you to walk with you, not above you judge your every reaction.
I know you worry. Mom, that’s my job (I Pe. 5:7). You have enough to do. Give me those worries. Whatever it is that is causing your anxiety, I have a solution. I don’t always tell you because it may be more than you can bear at the time. Give me your concerns. I’ll take care of it.
Talk to me about your worries. Cry out if you need to. My shoulder is big enough to bear all of your tears. I want to hear them. I don’t grow weary of hearing from you. I want you to have peace (Jn. 14:27). I will give it to you. Accept it. (Hope for Battle Weary Mom)
I know you want to hover and protect your child from all dangers. Like a mother hen, you scamper and squawk to scare off the bullies and gather in your chicks. The feathers of my wings (Ps 91:3-4) cover you and your babies. I offer the protection you seek.
Also, know, you can’t stop bad things. Bad things happen because the world has fallen from the paradise I created. I am there in the chaos—all the time. (How to Have Peace During Trials)
I know you think all other moms are doing better than you. Stop it. Don’t compare yourself to others (Gal 6:4-6). Go about the business I have for you. Let other moms do their business. As the woman created to raise and train your children, you will know from ME what to do.
I’ve made each of your kiddos unique, as you are unique. What other moms do will not work with your rare and special child. When there’s only one of something, it is rare. I’m sure you’ve noticed each of your children react differently in the same situation. I created each of them with unique temperaments and gifts to carry out my plan for them. The plan I set in motion before each one was conceived (Ps. 139:13-15). You are doing the best job for the family I made just for you. No one else can do that.
I know you read Proverbs 31 and think “How can I possibly do all of that?” You can’t. I don’t expect you to. Do you think this famed woman did all this in one day or even one year? This fabled woman had a maid. Do you have a maid? Read these words carefully. It’s not about the physical; it’s about the spiritual. If you are doing what I created you to do, you are a capable, intelligent, and virtuous woman. When I said don’t compare yourself to other mothers, I meant even this one. (Motherhood and Contentment)
Remember I love your children more than you. You probably don’t think that’s possible. I’m a father. I sent my son to be sacrificed for your children. There is no greater love. Through my love for your children, I gave them a gift—you.
I’m here … always holding your hand (Is. 41:13). Keep doing what I tell you, and I tell you are doing fine. I love your children. I love you. Go forward with my love. Mom, I’ve got your back.
With all my love,
Your Heavenly Father.
