Welcome to What to Read Wednesday!
A Veteran is someone who has served in the military. We set aside Veterans Day each year to honor those who have given their time, talents, lives and loved ones to protect our freedoms and our people. Veterans Day lies just ahead falling on Tuesday, November 11th this year, so we wanted to put together some resources for reading and learning in relation to that.
Here are some great children's book choices to learn more about Veterans Day. You can click on the photos to see a sample or purchase the book or kindle (in some cases) on Amazon. You might also find them in your library if you search in plenty of time to reserve them before Veteran's Day.
Children's Books for Veteran's Day:
America's White Table by Margot Theis Raven
H is for Honor: A Military Family Alphabet by Devin Scillian
The Poppy Lady: Moina Belle Michael and her Tribute to Veterans by Barbara Walsh
The Veterans Day Visitor by Peter Catalanotto
Here is a Free Flag and Pledge to the Flag Printable for you. Click the images below to download.
Do you have a favorite Veteran? We would love for you to tell us of their service in the comments.
