Easter Busyness
I don't know about you, but it seems that with Easter coming earlier than normal this year, our week prior to Easter was even busier than normal.
We attended a Bible Conference and took our bookstore ministry there for the benefit of the attendees, we were still doing homeschool with the kids (our Spring break started Saturday), we had end of the month deadlines and reports, and company from out of town, and worries about future projects, and the sorrow that someone we know died and her funeral was Saturday, and… the list goes on and on.
Easter Overwhelmingness
It got overwhelming there for a bit until I remembered the Life giving words to the old song Because He Lives.
Because He (Jesus) lives, I can face tomorrow.
Because He lives, all fear is gone.
Because I KNOW He holds the future.
My life is worth the living, just because He lives!
Easter Hope
On Sunday we woke up extra early to celebrate our Lord's resurrection. The dawn found us singing praise to our risen Lord, by the water's edge at the Gulf of Mexico.
Our view was glorious as God's rising sun seemed to give life to all the world at once. Sparkly coating the water and everything it touched! Drowning all fears in the awe of himself and his creation!
Easter Glory
Imagine how glorious it must have been on that morning so many years ago to view an empty tomb with the rays of the suns first light and know that the Giver of Life had conquered death and was alive for ever more and willing to give life to all who would accept it!
Imagine how glorious for our friend to be present in Heaven today basking in the pain-less glory of eternal life in the presence of our loving Savior!
He is risen! He is hope! He is victory! He is life!
Today, because he lives, I will live in his love and in his life and in the joy of his glory.
And tomorrow, I will trust him for the future that he holds.
What or whom are you trusting for your future? What did you do to celebrate the Lord's life giving victory over death this weekend?
