Do you ever feel at a complete loss?
Like you don't know what to do?
Today's post by Jennifer encourages you to take those feelings and questions and leave them with the Lord. Be encouraged today, dear Friend.
Sometimes I have absolutely no idea…
What's right?
What's wrong?
What's best?
How should I handle this?
What could I have done differently?
Sometimes I'm clueless about relationships.
Other times it's homeschooling.
Sometimes it's ministry.
Oftentimes I have no idea what I'm doing as a mom.
I came across this verse recently, and it's been on my heart ever since:
Could it be that when I'm inundated with uncertainty…overcome with doubts…plagued by confusion…
That what I'm really experiencing are symptoms of a much bigger problem?
Not enough time alone with Jesus.
Not that we'll get every answer by spending time with Him. After all, the Bible doesn't tell me which curriculum to choose…or how old my child should be before she gets an ipod…or how to handle that overwhelming project at work.
But we certainly do get a lot of the answers we need, as we spend time with Him, …
asking Him for guidance through prayer…
and seeking wisdom through Scripture.
But even in those instances when we don't get a specific answer or a thorough explanation, time with Him is never wasted.
Because as we spend time with Him, we are getting to know Him better.
And with that knowledge comes trust.
And when we trust Him more, we doubt Him less.
We start believing that He grants wisdom to all who ask.
We start believing that He has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness.
We start believing that He will direct our paths as we acknowledge Him.
We start believing that.
And to top it all off, when we spend time with Him…
well, a lot of the particulars just don't matter so much anymore.
When we spend long moments gazing at the Eternal One, we get much-needed perspective on the temporal.
Because you know what? Even important temporal things…are still temporal.
So if you're facing a challenge right now in some aspect of life, instead of making Google or your best friend or your mom or your spouse your first line of defense…
go to Jesus first.
Let Him know how you're feeling. Pour out your heart to Him. Ask Him for guidance. Beg Him for wisdom.
He will answer you.
And He just might explain everything.
