How did you learn a second language?
Many people have asked me how it is that we were able to learn spanish skip language school when we moved to Mexico as missionaries.
My husband learned Spanish by immersion when he was a teenager living with his missionary parents in Mexico, and I began learning Spanish in high school.
Though I did spend considerable time in language classes and had a college minor in Spanish, I would have to say that it was the out-of-class experiences that really helped me gain fluency in the language, to the point that we could bypass language school.
