Kids love videos that are fun, entertaining, and exciting. Parents love when their kids can learn something while watching videos. Buck Denver's What's in the Bible? series is the perfect fit!
Phil Vischer, the creator of Veggie Tales, has created a series that kids and adults will love. While Veggie Tales focuses on Bibical values and can at times take things a bit too far, in our opinion, What's in the Bible? was created to help kids build a strong foundational knowledge of the Bible.
Our first introduction to them was the Christmas DVD and we really enjoyed how it explained many of the legends and icons of Christmas along with the truth of the Scriptural story.
What's in the Bible?
The What's in the Bible? DVDs are broken up into 13 DVDs (plus Christmas) that cover the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation.

- Why do We Call it Christmas?
They cover major topics from each section of the Bible in a kid friendly way that isn't babyish. They go deeper than most series that are geared for kids, covering the more difficult topics. Even tricky books like Song of Solomon and Revelation are explored. The DVDs explain the “why” behind topics and do a good job of connecting the Old Testament to the New Testament.
The series focuses on a main character, Buck Denver, a media personality who is fun loving and very inquisitive. With a cast of different puppets they do an amazing job covering the major events in the Bible. From the books of the Bible to the End Days, your child will learn the concepts with fun catchy songs sung by the characters.
Pastor Paul helps you learn different vocabulary words about the Bible and explains some of the more difficult topics.
Each puppet is special and really adds to the story. Sunday School Lady helps to bring the Bible to life, sharing knowledge about different stories in the Bible. Clive and Ian are two kids who are full of questions, maybe some of the same questions your kids have. These characters ask why there was so much killing in the Bible, why there are 4 gospels that tell the same story, why the people wouldn't just follow the rules, and so many other questions. And they are just a few of the exciting characters you will meet along the way!
Phil Vischer is part of the videos as well. He provides additional comedy, fun, and answers a lot of questions. While the DVDs are fun, we did not feel that they take away from the reverence of the Bible, as some of the Veggie Tales episodes do. They are serious when they need to be.
The DVDs can be watched in any order, add them to your current Bible study, let your kids watch them just for fun, or watch them while reading through the Bible. Your kids will learn a lot, and you may pick up something new as well, I did. They are a great way to help kids learn What's in the Bible!
They are having a sale this month: Through 8/31/15 you can get the entire set of What's in the Bible? plus the Christmas DVD (14 DVDs in all) for $109! This would make an awesome family Christmas gift too! Click here now to order it.
