Happy Birthday Mexico!
Today, Mexico celebrates the 203rd anniversary of it's Independence from Spain. The celebrations usually begin around Midnight on September 15th with someone's reenactment of Miguel Hidalgo's Grito (the famous speech which initiated the 1810 revolt leading to their Independence) and of course fireworks till all hours of the morning.
In honor of it's Independence, and our 6.5 years of living in Mexico, we are coloring flags and decorating in red, white, and green today. And, for you, our family has collaborated to put together a list of our favorite things about Mexico, in no particular order:
