The Chinese celebrate the Chinese New Year to wish for a lucky and prosperous year and to celebrate the past year of hard work. They celebrate for an entire week and use the time to celebrate, rest, and spend time with family.
Although your heritage may not be Chinese, it is interesting to learn and to teach your children about other cultures. You can do this by find books about their New Years Traditions, making and eating Chinese dishes and creating artwork and crafts as a celebration of the Chinese New Year. Use the following list we've put together as a jumping off place for your study and fun with the Chinese culture.
